Description
The VILLIGER 1888 Gran Reserva has been available in Germany and Switzerland since July 2025. It is a Toro-sized cigar with a box-pressed shape and dimensions of 6 x 54. It features a dark brown San Andrés wrapper from Mexico. Beneath this lies a binder from Ecuador, which encloses the Nicaraguan filler.
All the tobaccos used are aged for two years prior to processing. After rolling, the cigar is left to rest for a further year at the VILLIGER de Nicaragua factory in Estelí. The total ageing period is therefore at least three years.
In terms of flavour, the VILLIGER 1888 Gran Reserva presents itself as a medium-bodied to full-bodied blend. The box-pressed format also influences the draw of the cigar. With its composition and ageing, it complements the range with a variant featuring a longer maturation period and a balanced blend of the tobaccos used.
